Local Youngsters Stage Panto

06 December 2007

Bootle youngsters will stage a special Christmas panto at Bedford Road Community Centre at 12.30pm on Saturday, 15 December.

'Follow the Bootle Main Road' is based on the story of the Wizard of Oz, and will be packed with local references and humour.

20 young people from the Queens and Bedford neighbourhoods have been involved in all aspects of production from script-writing to stage and costume design. The panto has taken shape through a series of drama workshops led by Blank Page Productions and local volunteers.

The project is supported by Evolve Neighbourhood Regeneration and funded by Evolve, Hornby Homes, Cosmopolitan and Riverside housing associations.

'Follow the Bootle Main Road' will be performed at 12.30pm on Saturday, 15 December at Bedford Road Community Centre, Bootle. Santa will be in attendance and will hand out Christmas gifts for children. Tickets are £1 on the door.
