Respect Our Neighbourhood

31 March 2008

A week-long programme of community events is planned for the Queens, Bedford, Worcester and Hawthorne neighbourhoods of Bootle from 7 - 12 April 2008.

Respect Week is designed to promote a cleaner, safer and healthier community. It is part of the government's national Respect Agenda, which aims to build a society where we respect one another, where anti-social behaviour is rare and tackled effectively, and communities can live in peace together.

Events will include community clean-up days, arts and crafts sessions, after-school clubs, football training, pamper sessions, healthy eating advice and free fire safety checks. The week will also include a fun walk, keep fit and tai chi, over 55s groups and a jobs fair.

A grand finale event will take place in Derby Park on Saturday, 12 April from 10am until 4pm, with free fun for all the family. The fun day will include cage soccer, climbing, wall assault course and five-a-side football competition finals. Community groups and services will also be available to provide free information and advice.
